it's one of those days where i want to say something, but nothing is coming, so i'll share some great posts i read this morning.
first up, Kelly at Kelly's Compositions has a list she found for The Hero's Journey. this might help me get back on track with my 3rd draft.
Elaine AM Smith at Wordsmithing has a great post about using the dash--something i use more frequently than i should and will try to cut down on in my sequel. you can read it here: Dash Across the Punctuation Minefield.
Shannon O'Donnell has a great quote about being able to do anything when we have God. she must have been listening in on my conversation with my husband this morning where i was panicking over getting my house ready to sell in 6 months so we can move to Montana (where Shannon lives, interestingly enough). thank you, Shannon.
N. R. Williams, Fantasy Author is starting a blog tour for her fantasy novel The Treasures of Carmelidrium. she needs 9 more people to rate her book on Amazon and Smashwords and she's offering free copies of her book for anyone willing to help her out. i wish i could, but i don't have the time right now, not with packing up and trying to do my own 3rd draft. she also has a link to a post at PBS called "2010:The Year Self-Publishing Lost Its Stigma" (which is wonderful news to this indie author).
by the way, i found N. R. Williams through an indie author promotion site by Karen Gowan called Celery Tree. they're looking for 100 authors with books to sell to help them launch their website. i get to be one of them, which i think is very cool.
and finally, The Bookshelf Muse has an article on Creating Unforgettable Settings, something we can all use help with.
