when i was little, i always wanted a secret place of my own. the best i could do was to hide under the branches of the mesquite tree in our front yard. when the branches touched the ground, it was perfect.
i found this secret place on the grounds of the Glen Eyrie castle. i wish i'd taken the time to just sit inside it and imagine being 6-year-old Lydia - one of the characters in my novel. i'll just have to imagine from here. i think it will fit perfectly in a scene where she hides from her papa.

I always wanted a secret place too, Michelle. The best I could do was under the bridge in our backyard. For some reason, no one ever thought to look there even though it was the most obvious place to hide.
I love this photo!
