Kristie Cook graciously gave me the Prolific Blogger Award back a few weeks ago. it's taken a little time to get it up. i'm not sure about the rules that go with this one, if there were rules in the first place. in lieu of rules, i thought i'd look up prolific.
from DictionaryReference.com:
pro·lif·ic /prəˈlɪfɪk/ - adjective
from DictionaryReference.com:
pro·lif·ic /prəˈlɪfɪk/ - adjective
1. producing offspring, young, fruit, etc., abundantly; highly fruitful: a prolific pear tree.
2. producing in large quantities or with great frequency; highly productive: a prolific writer.
3. profusely productive or fruitful (often fol. by in or of ): a bequest prolific of litigations.
4. characterized by abundant production: a prolific year for tomatoes.
goodness. so i suppose i've produced large quanties of blog posts. my blogger dashboard says something like 371 posts. wow.
from the same site, here are the word's origins:
prolific
1650, from Fr. prolifique, from M.L. prolificus, from L. proles "offspring" + root of facere "to make" (see factitious). L. proles is from PIE *pro-al-, from *pro- "forth" + *al- "to grow, nourish."
i like this one ever better because it refers to the word "nourish." i hope that's what i do here -- nourish growing writers, nourish ideas, nourish hearts.
now, to pass this on, i thought i'd list blogs that nourish me:
Vicki Gaines at Light for the Writer's Soul-- Vicki posts quotes that help me remember why i write.
Christine of Christine's Cottage and The Writer's Hole -- Christine is just a very encouraging lady and writing friend.

Thank you so much, Michelle. I, too, am behind in acknowledging awards. I have a couple yet to post. How un-prolific of me!
