just an update. we've been in our new house a month. it's starting to feel like ours. finally. i'm getting used to driving into town. funny how driving 20 minutes on surface streets to get anywhere in Mesa, AZ didn't seem like a big deal. now i drive a dirt road, then some black-top, and finally freeway to get into Butte. it seems like a big deal.
we're using hotspots for internet. we have limited downloads. being newbies at limiting our internet time, we used up our 20 GB before our month was half over. i'm sitting at the local bakery/coffee shop right now.
i thought it would be extremely hard to go without. my kids certainly did. but it's been good. my kids are spending more time with each other. we're doing other things. i'm slowly working on my Eldala sequel. and oddly enough, i've started revising a romantic comedy-chick book i started back in 2007, right after i'd finished Eldala and wanted to take a break from epic fantasy and see if i could do something comical. i read it over a few weeks ago because i was bored and remembered how much i like it.
writing is a good thing for me. i was starting to wonder if i still had it in me. i do. cool.

Sometimes I wonder if the only way to take a break from the Internet is to be forced into it by lack of service. Glad you're enjoying your new area!
I think I like the sound of no internet, especially as it means you're writing. I need no internet. I might get Hubby to disconnect - if I do it myself, I'll just turn it back on, if he does it I wouldn't!
It's great that you're settling into your new home. It sounds lovely just being that little bit removed via a dirt track :-)

No internet, what a blessing. I could live without it, well, maybe not. As long as I had it available once in a while, yeah, I like that idea.

No internet can definitely be a good thing--especially for your writing. And isn't it such a great feeling to think you've lost your muse, but then find out it was just taking a small vacation? haha. Good luck in your new home!!
Also, while I have your ear for a sec, if you want to go vote in ponyfest for me, that'd be awesome. My daughter is SO excited about the pony she drew for me. I hate to let her down by our pony getting barely any votes. Our pony is Cacee by Tamara haha. Thanks!

Wish you all the best for your getting settled in the new home. I remember the last time we did this - all over the house the packages waiting to be opened and the things in them stored away. What a blessing that you don't need much to write, no artists`stuff like paint and canvas or fabric and sewing machine....

I'm so happy to hear you're writing again. I loved Eldala and can't wait to read the sequel. And the click lit sounds fun! I'll get mine back out one day, too.
