where did the giraffes go? don't worry, they needed a vacation to sunny Africa. they'll be back in a few months. this peacock from the Tucson Reid Zoo will keep their spot warm.
i love quotes. here's the latest...

"Inside each and every one of us is our one, true authentic swing. Something we was born with. Something that's ours and ours alone. Something that can't be learned... something that's got to be remembered." ~ from the movie The Legend of Bagger Vance

the "No Kiss" Blogfest

romance writer that i am, i love kissing scenes. but sometimes, a no-kissing scene is just as satisfying. and now i get to share some of my favorites, thanks to Frankie Diane Mallis and her "No Kiss" Blogfest. irony of ironies, i get to share them on my anniversary. yep, today i celebrate 25 years of kissing scenes with my best friend.

but back to the blogfest. Frankie said we could post a video of our favorite movie no-kissing scene, which i thought would be easy. then i realized i have several favorites. i've included links to the ones i didn't post.

the first one i thought of was the proposal from the most recent Pride and Prejudice.

then i thought of the one from A Knight's Tale, which could just be an argument, but they look like they need to kiss.

and there's the one in Tangled, which i think is sweet (and gets interrupted after this song).

but the one i finally settled on was the one from Enchanted. so many emotions in one beautiful scene--the surprise of realizing they're in love, the joy of dancing together, and the loss of their future. (for some reason the spoken dialogue is silent, but i thought the song was more important.)

and then, just for fun, here's a link to a scene from my work-in-progress, Black Heart, the sequel to Eldala. and it's not a no-kiss scene. it's a "mistaken kiss" scene.

for more no kissing scenes, visit Frankie's blog. and if you're here from the blogfest, i'll try to get to the other no kissing posts in the next few days.

now i'm off for more of my own kissing scenes. dinner out and Mission Impossible at the movies.

Happy Anniversary!!

I love that Pride and Prejudice scene too. I'm not sure I've ever seen Enchanted all the way through, but I just added it to my list :)

And, BTW, I loved Enchanted. I saw it at the theater by myself and literally wept because it was so like the Disney fairy tales I remember from childhood and it touched one of those places. Thanks for sharing this scene, it's a good one.
