i always find castles inspiring. since everyone has their own taste in castles, i thought i'd post a few that i'd found.
and then there's the castle i use for my novels-- Conwy Castle in the town of Conwy, Aberconwy & Colwyn, north Wales... (which is ironic because when i first made a map of my fictional country Teleria, i based it off of Wales. i didn't pick the castle until later, and i didn't know it was a Welsh castle until much later.)
where did the giraffes go? don't worry, they needed a vacation to sunny Africa. they'll be back in a few months. this peacock from the Tucson Reid Zoo will keep their spot warm.

I can see why Conwy Castle is your favorite! That photo stirs up all sorts of good plot lines doesn't it? I see you're in Butte. I live and write up here on the Hi-Line in Shelby. We've lived in Montana for close to eleven years now.
Nice!
And I saw Conway Castle many, many years ago. Awesome place.
I have never been to a castle. I'm happy with a room of my own tho :)
Those are gorgeous!
My fondest memory is of a trip we took to England and Scotland a few years ago. Edinburgh Castle was beautiful.
I love castles. I live near one built in the 12th century, which is privately owned now, but it's still an awesome site and reminds me of the history of my town. Conwy Castle is stunning.
When I saw your title I was thinking about Conwy Castle! It is the only castle I've seen in real life and it was so amazing. My maiden name is Conway, so my sisters and I all went to see it a few years ago. :)
I absolutely love the pics! When I was a little girl, I always wanted to live in a castle.
I love castles. These are gorgeous. I'd love a big puzzle of the first one.
