futility

when i try
          to make things work
when i try
          to figure out the details
when i get angry
over things i can't change or understand
when i fight against
the peace that God offers in every minute
i'm like the crazy woodpecker
who bangs his beak against the metal smokestack
on the roof, expecting to make some kind of progress
when all he gets for his efforts
            is a headache

And a metal smokestack has got to hurt!

A good reason to remember the serenity prayer here. It's natural to feel otherwise, but sometimes you just have to go with the flow.

Yes on the serenity prayer.
The futility of everything hits me from time to time. Those are the days (or weeks) where I have to put everything into baby steps. Suddenly I'm successful because I brushed my teeth. lol
Good luck.
