a zebra to go with the giraffes and thoughts on A-Z

it's getting to be a regular zoo around here.

Elizabeth Mueller made this cute award button and passed it on to everyone who finished A-Z. thank you, Elizabeth.

i suppose this would be as good a place as any to give my thoughts on the challenge. i know it's jumping on the bandwagon again, but i might as well this one last time.

i appreciate all the people who stopped by, and the new followers here. i look forward to getting to know the new bloggers i'm following. you never know where those connections will lead.

i applaud the hosts. i don't know how they managed to make it to all the blogs, but the effort to do so is appreciated. the fact that they wanted to bring bloggers together is great. the blogging world is HUGE and it was a nice way to find blogs i might not have found otherwise. it made me go out and visit--a good thing since i tend to "stay home" or close to home during my blogging/web surfing time.

if i were going to offer a suggestion for next year, i would say, split the list of participants into smaller chunks. limit each list to a couple hundred and then it might not be so overwhelming.

to read what other A-Z participants have to say about the challenge, you can go to Arlee's blog.

Your blog header with those giraffes looks very nice. Congrats on finishing the challenge and it's great to know that we're all in good company with crossing the finish line at blogging this month.

I think your idea of breaking the challenge participants into groups next time is excellent! Otherwise, it became overwhelming. Plus it seemed like the norm became to make short posts just to please the visitors (so they could come and go quicklY) vs. doing a post that you really felt like saying something about. I really enjoyed posts where people stayed true to saying what was in their hearts, no matter how many words it was. Nice to meet you!

Congrats on completing the Challenge. I managed it too, but didn't get around to visiting as many blogs as I intended, so I'm now catching up. Glad I found yours - now following.

That's probably a good idea about splitting up the list. I just found your blog now!

I'm gonna have to be honest here--I never did make it to all of the blogs. Not sure even how many I visited. I had to scuttle the list just to comment back on those who were visiting my blog and that was in the hundreds I'm certain. But I commend all of the bloggers who did manage to make it through.

Your idea about breaking up the list is one that has been suggested by many others. I think I have an idea about that. I will be posting on Mondays about some of the suggestions that have been made and then doing my evaluation on May 30th. I hope you will join me then to see what you think.

Thanks for being a part of the April Challenge 2011.
