A-Z - live now

maybe you've read on my sidebar that i'm moving to Montana. our plan is to leave here in five months. i've worried about what life will be like there. i live in the desert of Arizona. the weather will be a huge change. we'll have more animals to take care of (3 dogs versus horses, chickens and a goat). there will be new challenges. i'm leaving a lot of good friends behind.

i know it will be tempting to think, "why did i leave?" i know i will have to make an effort to live in the present and not yearn for the past.

You can clutch the past so tightly to your chest that it leaves your arms too full to embrace the present. ~Jan Glidewell

Don't let yesterday use up too much of today. ~Cherokee Indian Proverb

Having spent the better part of my life trying either to relive the past or experience the future before it arrives, I have come to believe that in between these two extremes is peace. ~Author Unknown

When one door closes another door opens; but we so often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door, that we do not see the ones which open for us. ~Alexander Graham Bell

The only piece of advice I'll give you, is to make sure you have a roll of toilet paper in the car when you start your adventure. Also a couple of blankets, a flashlight and a gallon or two of water. (On top of what you think you'll need for the dogs.) Getting to Montana is full of mountains and when I lived in the mountains, tp, blankets, light, and water were essential in a car ALL THE TIME. Even once you get there, keep these in your trunk.

Those are lovely quotes, Michelle. I know next to nothing about Montana, but good luck with the move!

Embrace this move. I'm thinking Robert Redford and Horse Whisperer. Go for it Michelle.
