Great analogy over there! I never thought of it that way, but it's perfect.
A friend asked me, "So when's the book going to be done?"
Exasperation. "Do you know how long it takes to get published (traditionally) and how long a first novel takes? It could be years."
"Well, hurry up. I want to read your book." My friend stomps her foot. Okay, she didn't really stomp her foot, but it sounded good. LOL. Non-writers really don't understand.
