5 years ago, part one

5 years ago, i was getting ready to start my first NanoWrimo. i was panicking and excited. this year i'm just excited, even though it's a different kind of excited. 5 years ago it was the excitement of thinking i was going to start a novel for the very first time. i didn't know if i could do it, but i was sure going to try. i didn't think i was a writer, just a mom who wanted to tell a story her kids would enjoy.

i also think i was reading an article in the paper about myself and nano.

that's the original map of Teleria we're holding. and this picture has a story to go with it that i'll tell another day.

Wow. Your kids really grew up! And that map is HUGE! How did you scan it down to fit in the book?

yeah, they really did. i think i folded the map into 4ths, scanned each part, then reduced it and used a transparency sheet to re-do it for the book. but that's been a few years, so i'm a little fuzzy on that.

I love to see family pictures on blogs. I love this one!

That's wonderful that you got your novel out of NaNo. I'm going to check it out right now!

Hope you and yours have a fun Halloween weekend!!
