voices from the past

"You knew this kind of thing could happen. When you walk in who you are, you will be opposed."

"I just didn’t expect it to come so soon."

"You’ll have to be on your guard from now on."

"I’ve never done anything this big."

"The spell you’ll have to use will take more than your natural abilities..."

let me back up. i've been dreading going back into my novel because i've been out of it so long because of a huge scene block. so now i'm thinking about going back into it and i'm a little hesitant. have i forgotten how to write? can i finish this story? will it ever get finished?

while i've hemmed and hawed, i've been editing Eldala for re-release. finding those little things that needed to be fixed but i missed them before. out of the blue, i came across the conversation i posted above. it's Arathor (Kieran's father) talking to Kieran. things aren't going well in the story. the villain is causing him problems. his father is giving him counsel.

apparently, my Father is giving me reminders.

When i walk in being a writer, i will be opposed. i'd forgotten. and it does seem like i'm doing something that's bigger than anything i've done before, even though it's not. finishing will take more than my natural abilities.

thanks, Arathor. it was just what i needed. (either that, or a magic wand...)
