randomness

of course. what else?

►have i told you Blackheart is on hold? my brain just couldn't do another thing with it. but since i have to write, i'm writing backstory for something else and having a great time.

► i can't believe i have 93 followers. wow. i can remember when i had 6. (and no, i'm going to be different and NOT have a 100 followers contest, celebration, etc. that's not to say i won't have a 122 followers contest...or something like that.)

► i can't believe i've had 2217 hits on my blog since i started counting less than a year ago. what really surprises is me is how many new visitors i have every day. there were 17 new ones the other day. and the places they come from surprise me.

►the other day i read a post at That Rebel with a Blog where Olivia talked about being an HSP - a highly sensitive person. i'd read about it several years ago and came to the same conclusion this time: yes, i'm an HSP.

as Pearl S. Buck (another HSP) said, "The truly creative mind in any field is no more than this: A human creature born abnormally, inhumanly sensitive. To him... a touch is a blow, a sound is a noise, a misfortune is a tragedy, a joy is an ecstasy, a friend is a lover, a lover is a god, and failure is death.

Add to this cruelly delicate organism the overpowering necessity to create, create, create —— so that without the creating of music or poetry or books or buildings or something of meaning, his very breath is cut off from him. He must create, must pour out creation. By some strange, unknown, inward urgency he is not really alive unless he is creating."

it certainly explains why i have to be creating something every day.

i spent the rest of the morning doing research on HSPs and was even more convinced. nice to know there are other people out there like me.

Me too! I read what I thought was an obscure article years ago and figured out that I was an HSP. What a relief, I thought. There's a name for it! It's nice to know I'm not alone. Thanks for posting this.

Hi Michelle! :-)
What a beautiful quote by Pearl S Buck.

Thanks for the shout out, Michelle, my dear fellow HSP.

Congrats on all your followers! Awhile back I was thinking of starting a bloghop entitled: "Hi, my name is ________ and I'm an HSP." I didn't have a 100 follower contest, either, we could do something like that now.

Whaddya think? that rebel, Olivia
