there's a lively discussion going on at Lisa Yarde's blog about the retail price of a self-published book vs. a traditionally published book. i even stepped into the fray, not because i like debate (i was terrible at it in highschool and i avoid conflict like the plague), but because the subject is near and dear to me.
look in the comments for her first post on Indie Publishing. i don't know if there are any clear-cut answers, but it's something to think about if you're going to go the self-published route.
