leave the results with God

several years ago, when i was just starting to write, i came across Karen Hancock's Writing from the Edge blog. i found this quote there, and posted it way back when on my previous blog. i was looking for something else in my document files when i found it again. i hope it encourages someone now.

"Leave the Results With God"

This not only has application for the final results of the writing project – publication and public reception -- but it also applies to interim results. At the start of writing, and often throughout the process, the book, the writing, the story, the idea -- all will at times seem lame to you. Dead and uninspired. You will not want to go forward with it, convinced it is a corpse. But that is not so.

If He has called you to write this book (and you believe He has), then you must go forward with it, trusting Him to make it all come out right, even if it doesn’t appear it’s going to while you’re working. Trust Him and enjoy the process.

Trust that in the end, it’s going to give you pleasure and satisfaction. As much from the book itself, as from the process of seeing it unfold. Trust that it will fulfill the purpose He has for it, and that in the end He will be glorified. Trust that He knows what He's doing.

Thank you for your sweet encouragement about pressing on and leaving the results to God. Im in the beginning phase of my nonfiction book. I am CERTAIN that God is leading me to write this book. I just have to get it done. Youve given me a boost today!

Very inspiring. I'm reading your book and really like it. I'm sorry it's taking me so long. With all that has been going on I have not had to much me time. When I'm finished I would like to write a post about it if that is o.k. with you.
Thanks!
