now i'm "stylish"

Julie at Silver Lining gave me the "Stylish Blogger Award." i never thought the word stylish would be applied to me. when my husband and i go out, we don't dress up. we're more the jeans and t-shirt kind of people. except for weddings or fancy parties (which we don't go to often), i very seldom dress up to go anywhere.

now i get to list five fun facts about myself.

1. i rafted the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon in 2000. it was one of the best vacations i ever took, even though we had to pack and unpack twice a day and there was sand everywhere.

2. when Beauty and Beast came out way back when, i think i watched it in the theater 10 times and then i got the video for Christmas (yes, that was before dvd's). it's still my favorite Disney movie.

3. now that i've watched dvds on my blu-ray player (ok, it's a ps3), i don't want to watch them on my dvd player anymore.

4. i can recite dialogue from Lord of the Rings, most of the Star Wars movies, Kate and Leopold, Ever After, and Open Range.

5. my favorite bit of dialogue from Kate and Leopold is about warm bread vs. burnt toast. i use it every time i make toast. i thought i'd post it here.

- That thing is a d** hazard!

- It's just a toaster!

- Well, insertion of bread into that so-called toaster produces no toast at all... merely warm bread! Inserting the bread twice produces charcoal. So, clearly, to make proper toast it requires one and a half insertions which is something for which the apparatus doesn't begin to allow! One assumes that when the General of Electric built it he might have tried using it. One assumes the General might take pride in his creations instead of just foisting them on an unsuspecting public.

- You know something? Nobody gives a rat's a** that you have to push the toast down twice. You know why? Because everybody pushes their toast down twice!

- Not where I come from.

- Oh, because where you come from toast is the result of reflection and study.

ok, enough stalling. now i need to award some other bloggers. this is my least favorite part because i read so many great blogs and i'd like to give it to everyone, but i suppose i'll follow the rules this time.

-
Abby Annis - i love her blog template and she always has something interesting to say.
- Lindsey at Dangerous with a Pen- i just love that blog title.
- Sara at In Shades of Scarlet - again, a lovely blog template.
- Jen at Woolgatherings - i love that title as well, along with her header.
